10th Photo story

I got tagged by Edwina Simone to do this photo chain thingy which was pretty fun, especially as it brings up such random photos you completely forgot about!

And the rules are as follows....

1. open your first photo folder
2. scroll to the tenth photo
3. post the photo and the story behind it
4. tag five or more people


This photo is from my 1st year of Uni when I was living with my boyfriend & a friend in London where our neighbours below was a betting shop and next door (to the right of the photo) was a gay pub (loud YMCA & Cyndi Lauper type music EVERY weekend amusing now but not at the time!)

Basically my friend quit his crappy retail job and begun a lifestyle of microwave instant noodles, take aways in his pants watching daytime telly (Nobody should watch Jermemy Kyle that often) SO my bf & I one day bored, thought it would be funny to make this sign of 'NEIL IS JOBLESS' hanging outside our flat to welcome him home one day thinking he would see the funny side of it (he did not) and maybe encourage him to start furiously looking for a job (he did not) and to think that was 5 years ago is a little scary.

Thankfully I am a little more mature and sophisticated than that now ;P

Before leaving London we took a brief tour of London, we went to see ben (the big kind), the eye, national gallery, china town & walked along the south bank for what felt like hours, it's soo pretty at night time! Definitely good date material spots! 

I couldn't get very interesting photos of Trafalgar square then I saw this amazing model of the whole surrounding area of National Gallery. It was wowsers.

The move

Littleclouds is moving.......to Hong Kong!

WHY?! - more a question of why not! a opportunity presented itself & we couldn't think of what was holding us back & as life is about experiences & all that & if now being young with no hardcore commitments isn't the time to make that jump then we never will but that is not to say that there will be no tears, I already miss my life here in London :( 

WHEN?! - Around end of February/early March, for how long for we're not sure but I'm thinking 1-2 years really.

WHERE!? - I will be moving to the New territories, in a former old market town called 'Tai Po'. Tai po holds some fond memories for me as I lived there for a year when I was 6 & although it is quite residential & considered to be a bit 'out in the sticks' by central hong kongers, to me it's the halfway point of busy city VS quiet village life. It also helps that it's surrounded by water & mountains :P 

WHAT!? - will I be doing? well it's good that you ask ;) We've luckily managed to find a job to help pay the necessities which is potentially mobile so hopefully we should be able to travel around a bit in South East Asia every now & again. My only aim & I'm totally serious when I say this is to travel to Sichuan, N.China to visit the panda Sanctuary ! 

There isn't any big sensible plan to what we will do there, just enjoy ourselves really, take time out, learn more skills, read more, listen more, explore & discover more! 

AND LITTLECLOUDS?! - Well if anything I will be spending more time on Littleclouds, I've already sourced materials & supplies that are more local to Hong Kong & something I'm so so excited about is that I will have a much bigger studio space & I've already got loads of ideas brewing waiting to materialise all of which should make 2009 an exciting time! 

Because the next 2 months, I'll be in this transition period of moving home to moving abroad, it is going to be hard to maintain stock levels, therefore I am temporary closing the shopping facility on my website but leaving my Etsy & Dawanda active so that what I have left is easier to manage now that production will have to slooow down. If you reaaaally don't want to sign up to either of these but want some Littleclouds loving then email me at Meow@littleclouds.co.uk what you want & if I still have some left I can email you a paypal invoice or put it aside to wait for cheques etc

phew! writing that was a mission for me, having it all out in virtual black & white hits home that I am leaving home :(

A photo of the carol singers, when I first heard them I thought it was through speakers & said to my friend 'wow that is amazing sound quality there' duhhh!

Thanks to anyone who came, was a really good venue & really well organised with good press coverage so thanks to Mary for organising it with hopes of many more to come!

Craftwerk show

I have some possibly maybe semi exciting news hopefully soon but meanwhile....

I got invited to attend a Xmas stall holding event in November which is nice so if anyone is nearby come hither! 

And I've finally finished my 2nd installment of my 'Cut out card' series! 'Rockstar Boyfriend' was the first of it's kind

My latest is a little bit more pink! It is for the girlie in all of us (even the boys!) as I think every little girl at some point or another wanted to be a princess (or a vet which has now been upgraded to a kitty/puppy/panda keeper) All will be revealed Friday but here is la taster of things to come
