Turning 25 has made me (want to be) focused! My problem is that I like too much stuff and I-like-to-do-what-I-like-to-do so I don't design within a set range or towards a consistent aesthetic, literally my shop is all over the place and being that my time is not infinite and 1 pair of hands can only focus on so much and seriously you would begin to think I had a problem if you could peak into my studio so enough is enough!

I need to redefine and learn to be selective, more is not best yes?

So this is where YOU come in what 'type' of designs/items/products do you like best from my shop and what do you like the least? What do you think I should make more of and what should I not bother with? (I'm thinking more generally rather than specific items).

To enter all you have to do is help me answer that question either by email MEOW@Littleclouds.co.uk or in the comments here and for 1 extra entry each, you can follow the blog, follow me on twitter and retweet

'Help @Littleclouds make some decisions! http://bit.ly/bnEWMA'

and in 2.5 weeks (Monday 5th July!) I'll pick out a winner randomly, maybe from a hat if I can find a hat or hat-like object !

I like the badges/magnets and temporary tattoos alot :) I think you should make more of them.

I guess I least like the character dolls, but I do still really like them. It's a tough one.

I'm into stuff that's functional or fashionable, so purses, badges, stationery...

I like the plushies, and I know a lot of people are into them... I just don't really understand their purpose..

I love the jewelry mostly, and the little pouches. Do you do screenprints on clothing? That'd be great too :)

I love the character dolls because they're unique and the illustrations/personality is great, but I agree with other commenters that their lack of function makes them less appealing. I love that you made a book of characters too - maybe put your characters on a more functional object?

ejorpin said...

Yep, got to agree with the 'functional' bit. The awesome thing about your functional pieces (zip pouches, pin cushions) is it's like having a bit or art that you get to use every day.

I love the printed fabric things - especially the pin cushions (so unique, most pin cushions have an air of 'nanna' about them!), and the jewelery (I love brooches!).

But, I am also a total paper goods freak (and looking at your sales history it seems I am not alone?), so if I were you I wouldn't ditch those...

How people make a living selling softies I have NO idea, some people manage it, but I think the market is pretty slim?

Liz Mays said...

I'd like to see more of the zip case purses and my least favorite are the items with faces. Just not my cup of tea.

I love the character plush dolls! They are so funny..i know so many people that would love to have one of those!
I think that your shop is so quirky and i love it.

I don't know ifi can really say i dislike anything but i guess the diamond plush necklaces are not really my thing. I think it is because that design is so over done anymore. But your take with making it plush is a unique idea.

And i would love to see more temporary tattoos....i love those. It would be great to see a wide variety!

but i'd love to see more of button earrings! the time buttons specifically are fabulous.

I think you should make more bags and totes. There are only 3 as I can see and they are soooooo beautiful!

I was all prepared to help you streamline your shop, then I took a peek --now I'm useless.

The stuff I liked best was all over the place (clockface pinchusions, weird bunting, bearded dude tote), so maybe all over the place is just dandy.

I really like the pins and the little pouches/totes!! I think the plushies are really cute too, but I personally wouldn't buy them because there isn't really a good use for 'em.

I like the paper goods and tote bags the best. Super useful and fun!

I don't know if I understand your jewelry aesthetic. There is so much jewelry available on Etsy and artfire that I'm not sure if yours stands out so much.

My favourite pieces are the bags/totes (especially the bearded guy one) and the purses and pencil cases. I'm not so fussed on the plushies or brooches, but that might just be because they're not the sort of thing I'd buy anyway. I just don't know what I'd do with them.

I don't like to tell people what they should do, but I could give you my opinion on what I like!

I love the pouches, cards, totes and paper. The character dolls are really cute and I could see them screen printed on clothes totes etc.
Good luck with your decision!

I came to this post from the etsygiveaways blog... from that listing I wasn't sure which shop you were, but right when I clicked on your blog link I immediately recognized that fairy!

Even though you sell a variety of items, I think your shop has a cohesiveness to it. I feel like your style is there in every piece... and I especially love the dolls! They may not be the most "practical" item, but hey, if we only bought what was practical life would be pretty boring right?! :D

I agree with what other said though - maybe try screen printing the characters onto more "functional" objects. :)

AmbreRose said...

I really like the stuffed things, they aren't practical, but I think they are so funny. I also like the buttons, people could always use a good button. I am not really feeling the screenprinting though. ambrerose(!at)aol.com

I like - character dolls a lot - unique!

I think that the "mish mash" section is kind of random, yet I love the tea bag coasters, and pin cushion. Just not sure how well it works with some other things?! Do love them, though.

You should use some of your character doll prints on the pencil cases and pouches - those would be cool.

Oh, I am also following. didn't know if i needed a new comment.

I normally like things that are functional than decorative, which may not apply to all your customers.

I like the tote bags, tea towels, pouches and home sweet home booklets from your shop.

and I am not much into prints with characters but that is just me!

I love your paper section- especially the cards! I was one of the people you send an airplane to ages back to check postage times...I still have it because it makes me so happy.

I can't really see the point of the tattoos, they're cute, but just not my thing, I guess.

I like the cases because they are super functional; I could see myself using them. My least favorite are Art prints, but those are always my least favorite - its just a matter of preference on that. Overall, I love your shop! It could use a little more in your profile about what you do besides crafting to personalize it. Theres my advice! :D

Heya! Well this is tough but i understand where you are coming from with doing 100 things at once. Personally i feel that your shop meshes your different items really well as they have the same, quirky kind of feel. I really love the tea towels and more functional items as they also make great gifts. If i had to say what i like least, it would be some of the stationary items...not that i don't like them, i just prefer to buy that kind of thing in real life. But maybe i am just strange. :)

Ok, that probably didn't help much so lucky you have lots of other suggestions to read through. :)

I love your creativity, but I think you could do really well by specializing in the cards/paper goods, maybe with matching totes. That way you can showcase your drawings in a way that lots of people will see.

I think one of my favorite things are your zip cases. They are not only funcutional, but they have those really cute sayings on there. I feel like if you had a bunch more of those, or concentrated on those, you could do really well! Who wouldn't want to have a bunch of those in her purse to sort items? Or for travel?

I'll admit, to me, the charachter dolls I didn't care much for.
